Moving is expensive. Stamp duty alone can cost more than a ground floor extension. If you like where you live but the house is too small, building onto it is usually the smarter move.
We build residential extensions across Sydney. That includes ground floor extensions, second storey additions, new bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, and conversions of garages or undercroft space into liveable rooms. Ben holds a Certificate IV in Building and Construction and manages every job on site, start to finish.

The scope depends on the property and what you need. Some homeowners want one extra room. Others want to extend the back of the house to double the size of the kitchen and living area. A few need a full first floor addition to get the bedrooms they're short on.
Every extension has to tie into the existing home. That means matching rooflines, lining up floor levels, carrying materials across from old to new, and making sure the new work doesn't look like it was bolted on as an afterthought. That's where experience matters. Ben's background with high-end residential builders means he pays close attention to these details, and it shows in the finished result.

Extensions almost always need some form of approval. A Development Application (DA) through council or a Complying Development Certificate (CDC) through a private certifier. The requirements depend on the size of the build, the zoning, and setback distances.
We can tell you early on what's likely needed and coordinate with certifiers, engineers, and draftspeople to keep the process moving. The approvals phase can take time, so the earlier you start, the sooner we're on site.
An extension involves structural work that a standard renovation usually doesn't. Footings, slabs, framing that has to connect to the existing structure, and often engineering sign-offs for steel beams and load paths.
Ben sequences the structural trades first, gets the building locked up, and then brings in the finishing trades. He keeps the existing home functional for as long as possible during the build, so you're not camping in your living room for months.
